Before putting studs in, ensure the boots are the correct size and that the horse is used to using them.
Always put studs in symmetrically for correct balance.
When drilling, ensure the stud doesn’t pierce the sole completely, bear in mind that boots with very worn soles will be thinner.
Always use your best judgement when riding in slippery conditions. The studs provide extra traction but they have their limits!
Remove the studs when not needed. You can save them and use them again the next winter
